When there’s a rash of burglaries in Canary Corners, West Virginia, the sheriff asks Adam to use his finder skills to help figure out who the burglar is. Unbidden, Bagel, Adam's beagle, offers clues through the use of Boggle dice and the game of colors to help Adam and the sheriff solve the mystery of the burglar and the murder he has committed.

Authors note Just as with The Dog Who Ate The Airplane An Adam and Bagel Mystery Book 1, this book does not contain any profanity (not one word), any overt sex (the most is the occasional smile, wink and maybe slight innuendo), and no overt bloodshed (someone is always murdered, but, as the reader, you only find out after the fact, you will not be a witness to the murder). Every book in the series (26 books) will follow these rules.

The third book in the series, The Dog Who Ate The Crossbow An Adam and Bagel Mystery Book 3 will be out by Christmas 2013.

The Dog Who Ate The Burglar Adam And Bagel Book 2 eBook Edward Coburn

As a dog lover who enjoyed "The Cat Who" series, I thought I'd give this one a try. I find the dialog to be very stiff and overly formal and I don't know a single person who actually speaks this way with their friends or love interest. The author spent an excessive amount of time describing the meals the hero eats and I kept finding myself wondering how many "Mason" sandwiches with fries and coconut cherry pie can one person actually eat? Why does the author think this is important to the story since it's not advancing the plot? The characters are nearly soulless and I don't know that I would like any of them if I met them in real life.
Having said that, I would still recommend this book to anyone looking for something "safe". I love that there are no graphic sex scenes or details of the murders and I could suggest this book to younger readers, in-laws, book clubs, etc without fear of embarrassment.
I'm not sure I will continue to read this series. I wish Bagel played a bigger role and that I heard less about how wonderful the hero is since he gives away a lot of money. In my opinion, this alone doesn't make him a likable or worthy person. If you have young children or teens looking for a simple and good read, this would be the book to choose. If you're a more advanced reader looking for a good plot and characters you can relate to, skip this one.

The Dog Who Ate The Burglar Adam And Bagel Book 2 eBook Edward Coburn Reviews

Good writing, but sometimes to wordy, at points, very predictable. I am beginning to think the dog is smarter than the main character
The book is very enjoyable and very easy reading. I enjoy reading about Adam and Bagel. The burglar surprised me and gave the book more suspense! I like the subplot going on in this book.
I think I was expecting something along the lines of a Laurie Berenson novel. Its not. It was rather boring and I didn't even bother to finish it- life's too short.Wouldn't reccomend it unless your doctor orders a bland book diet
I really liked the Cat Who..." books, so thought I'd try this one. It is eerily similar in many ways (backstory, characterization, and characters) to the Braun books. I usually appreciate characterization in books, however, this book would benefit from editing. The plot got lost in the many descriptions of meals they ate, etc. I got about two-thirds through the book and skimmed the rest.
I only gave it one star because I couldn't give it NO STARS! This "dog who" series is a blatant ripoff of the far superior "Cat Who" series. See previous comments about this dumb effort at plagiarism!
I like paranormal fiction, and being. a "finder" is a paranormal trait. This author though, incorporates very likeable characters, interesting plots and a very fun love story all together into an entirely satisfying novel. This is the second book in the series. I read the first one and immediately bought the second. There are several more that I am definitely looking forward to reading.
I thought the book was fun reading and it kept your suspense. Needless to say reading mysteries, especially when there are adorable animals attached to the plot who help solve the crimes, makes it that much more fun. It was good to read a "wholesome" book. After reading this book, I would not hesitate to pass it on to friends, with the line beware, it wasn't reviewed well. I was frustrated that someone didn't check the English in it. Sometimes a word would be missing in a sentence, or, missing, but you were able to figure out what the sentence meant. Some not so easy to comprehend
